Ep. 9 Climbing Symbolic Hills, Understanding our Own Emotions and Coping with Barnes Lewis

Welcome back to the 9th episode of the Hard Thing Podcast. In this Episode, I talk with Barnes Lewis, a friend of mine who has recently gone through some emotional hardening, and some emotional breaking. Barnes is an avid runner and has used running to help recover from a low point in his life. In this episode, Barnes shares with us his journey but severe mental anxiety, to completing a half marathon. In today’s conversation, we talk about how Barnes underwent a relationship roller-coaster, overdosed on Nyquil, symbolically and literally found himself stuck in the mud, and finally used running to climb the hill and reach the top. It’s a great conversation because it deals a lot with psychological stability and how each of us need to learn how to cope with struggles and how we should learn to get on by reaching out and talking with people. In the show we also introduce our new show sponsor, Audible. They are a premiere audiobook platform that offers over 180,000 different titles you can listen to from your Iphone, Android or any other device. Audible is offering listeners of the The Hard Thing Podcast a free Audiobook and a free 30 day trial. To take advantage of this, go to audibletrial.com/thehardthingpodcast to get signed up today.
